As well as working as a psychotherapist, I run my own HR & coaching consultancy. I therefore have a lot of experience of working alongside senior leaders, business owners and managers. I understand many of the emotional & physical challenges and the feelings of isolation and loneliness that you can experience in work and in other areas of your life, even though to everyone else your life may look very successful. I have a particular interest in supporting leaders and managers psychotherapeutically and providing a relationship where they can be seen more wholly not just in terms of their roles & responsibilities.
Having worked in corporate, manufacturing, SME & NFP spaces as a senior manager who is also a black woman, and as someone who has a sense of spirituality & faith, I understand some of the code switching and impact on a person’s sense of self that can come from working in white, typically male spaces where you are in the minority. I also know what it is to have your difference unseen, unacknowledged, dismissed and not valued. Whether your sense of difference is external and visible or more internally located, the very act of being you can be really challenging. So I have a particular passion for those who grapple with their identity or aspects of it. I also provide a space for those who want to explore their own privilege and its relational impact.
